F'ING the F'INADER!

I HAVE FOUND A WAY TO F' EFFIE!!!

Dear, dear Ms. Effie is my World Civ teacher that I have spoken on briefly and Blinding Firefly has spoken on in great detail. Katie more so has the gift for gab than I do ( hence why I have so few posts ) but I have decided that these sparks of genius that I have only come around once a millenium and so I might as well share them with you.

I am a good student. Straight A's through Highschool and A's and B's in college honor's classes. I think I have grounds to state that I am mildly intelligent ( if only book smart ) and would be able to pass a multiple choice World Civ test. Well you would be right, but only by a hair! I admitt I do not study that much, I have the ability to scan over something once and retain it... so it came as a shock to my room mates and my parents when I was spending all weekend and most of the night studing for WORLD CIV tests. And still make a C!!!! *BIG F'ING SMILE!*
This, is very discomforting, for I know for a fact the answers she would count as wrong, were right. But the dear woman would never give us our tests back to prove that we are right. No, just the answer sheet.

BUT

I have found a way.

For every question on this last test that I knew was 200% right ( all except five ) I wrote down two or three words to the side about the question, therefore allowing me when I get my answer sheet back to remember what the exact question was and flip to the highlighted pages in my book and show her that my answer IS right!

HA HA!
MINE IS AN EVIL LAUGH!

The Most Amazing Mid-Life Crisis Ever

So my dad is having a mid-life crisis which is AMAZING by the way. When he was a teenager, my daddy had his own band called 'Illusion' and they had long hair and wore spandex. Now that he is 45.. ish, Dad has had a stroke of genius,

LETS GET THE BAND BACK TOGETHER!!!

The old guys really aren't that bad, and it's loads of fun for me. Seeing how I don't live at the house anymore and am not woken up by band practice every Wednesday night until dawn. Ha ha ha ha, poor poor mother and little brother. No, I just come to the gigs and make the videos to post on Youtube. Speaking of which, will give you the heads-up as soon as finish it.

[ My daddy's the one in the middle playing rockstar *wipes away a tear* ]
[ I am so proud of him! ]

What I learn in World Civ...

1. No matter how many times you press Re-wind you will never get to the episode that is on the video before

2. VHS tapes will break if you do nothing but fast-forward and re-wind for an hour

3. When you are hosting a professional historical documentary, do not add in your own opinion on the matter, and if you do, at least back it up.

4. When hosting /making a professional historical documentary do not repeat the exact same phrase. In fact, don't repeat yourself at all, if they want to hear your profound and intellectually rewarding statement, they can re-wind.

5. Apathy leads to a lock of art which in turn lead to the fall of the Roman Empire

6. Pompeii's major contribution was grand baths and fish sauce (also called Gaurum).

7. Apparently you do NOT have to pass comp in order to get your bachelors degree.

An Ode to the Birthday Girl!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAMMEH!

So one of my wifeys had her birthday today and I decided I would do a post in honor of her of some of my favorite Sammeh memories!

^Lyndsey ^                           ^Sammeh^

#1 most favorite Sammeh memory : Best friends allow you to touch them inappropriately
Standing in line for the dealer room at MTAC in our cosplay suits (I was a school girl and Sammeh was Farah from POP) when all the sudden Sammeh says in the most serious expression "Hold this" and shoves her money down the pocket in my shirt on my boob and neither of us flinched or said anything. XD

#2 Sammeh memory : Being in the passanger seat of Sammeh's car for the first time, realizing how .... unique of a driver Sammeh was, flipping out for the lack of an 'oh shit' bar and leaving a handprint in the roof.
That is still there today.

#3 Sammeh memory : Playing Prince of Persia together everyday for a month and then upon completion turning to Sammeh with a smirk and saying "Prince of Persia: the ultimate one night stand. She has sex... and then becomes a virgin again."

#4 Sammeh memory : Borrowing each other's manga and leaving little witty comments in the margins.

#5 Sammeh memory : "Don't Move"

Otaku Club

I'm a geek.

Pure and simple.

And I'm also the president and founder of my college's Otaku club (Japanese Culture Club [emphasis on anime and manga ^.^] ). Heh!

So far I have 10 people attending, and I haven't even put fliers up. o.o I have a feeling once I do our numbers will double. Can you say uber excited Lyndsey?

I also have three Vice Presidents and two treasurers. Which may be a little much, so I'm planning on giving them fun titles, after I fire one of my treasurers. BUT I can't do it all myself and so am leaving it up to yoo (and others on my facebook and myspace).

GIVE ME TITLES!

1. Vice President number 1 : Responsibility : Providing mwuah with the latest Jrock info and music
2. Vice President number 2 : Responsibility : Providing mwuah with the lastest J-fashion info and visual aid
3. Vice President number 3 : Responsibility : My bitch. Heh heh...

I'm Getting Sick of Slavery

SLAVERY SLAVERY SLAVERY SLAVERY!!!!

That's all my American History professor talks about!! ALL!!! I realize that slavery was a huge part of early American History, BUT THERE IS SO MUCH MORE!

WHAT ABOUT THE DAMN INDIANS?!

It is on the blood of an ENTIRE race that America was built, and he has barely spoken about it!! Sure Blacks were slaves but at least they weren't MASSACRED. What of Ponce De' Leon? Salem Witch Trials? Mayflower Compact? The birth of PIRATES!!!

This is all because my professor is black.

And my whole class is black.

I demand a lawyer, I feel oppressed.

Shakespear... did I spell that right?

So-o-o-o-o-o-o-o,
I think I'm going to like Taming of the Shrew alot better than origonally intended. Who would have thought a Shakespeare class would be filled with controversy? Yeah, so anybody whose ever read more than one of Shakespeare's works are laughing at me, and those of you who have just read Romeo and Juliet I guess can relate to my shock.

So we basically have your side that is all for the treatment of Kate
and we have the one person who thinks her treatment was horrid.

And then there's me who see's both sides. God do I need a backbone.

So I can understand how P-dude's treatment of Kate was necissary and worked out for the better but I also see how it was cruel and never should have happened. But the truth is, "should" very rarely does happen. We all should behave accordingly and sweetly to one another, but passions, desires, tempers, pride, and a great number of other things gets in the way.

Another fun topic we came across was the stability of one's identity. Is it really something we are inherently born with or is conditioned by society?

So it got me thinking, what would I be if I wasn't a Christian?

I know plenty of non-Chrisitians out there who say they live by a set standard of morals and some do... but... I don't think I would. I think, if everything got thrown out the window...I would very much be one who lived according to my passions. Which I'm sure would make me a more interesting person, but still...

So saying that... who am I? If that is true... then is this person I try to be just a mask?

I hide my anger, hide my dissapointments, cover my shame, repress my desires, and lock away my curiosity.

Even though I don't want to... and it's hard.

But because I don't want to, because I want to live by my own laws....
does that make me a horrible person on the inside?
